JOB DESCRIPTION

Title:                      Accommodation Assistant

Department:            Accommodations

Reporting to:          Accommodation Supervisor 

Appraisers:               Accommodations Manager and Hospitality Manager

Professional Integrity:

To operate in accordance with HIQA standards and the Health Act 2007 and other relevant legislation.

To be familiar with the requirements set out in the Care and Welfare of Residents in Designated Centres for Older People Regulations 2007 (SI 415 of 2013).

Be familiar with the Complaints Policy, Confidentiality Policy, the Safeguarding Policy and Acceptable Use of IT Policy. 

To maintain a level of professional integrity in accordance with Orwell Healthcare policies and procedures, employment contract, philosophy of care and mission statement.

 

Professional Development:

Demonstrate a willingness of professional development in view of continuous performance appraisals.

Purpose of the Role:

The Accommodation Assistant role covers the areas of cleaning residents’ rooms, all public areas, dining rooms & kitchenettes as well as laundry management and infection control management. The overall aim of this role is to ensure that all duties assigned within these areas are carried out to the highest possible standard and in accordance with safety and Orwell Healthcare procedures.

Responsibilities:

Cleaning:

  • Carry out all cleaning duties, in the designated areas whether that be residents’ rooms, public areas or dining rooms to a high standard and in accordance with the various checklists and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Use cleaning equipment and products as instructed.
  • Report any item that is broken or in disrepair to the Accommodation Supervisor.
  • Be pro-active in keeping the house clean and tidy.
  • Be aware of rooms that have special infection control precautions and the correct procedures to be followed.

Laundry:

  • Carry out all laundry duties in accordance with operating standards.

 

Kitchenettes

  • Clean and tidy the kitchenettes to the required standard ready service on a daily basis or as and when required.
