Job Description

Job Summary:

• To provide 24 hour medical cover and immediate first line emergency care or resuscitation for the hospital inpatients and to provide such care to outpatients, visitors or staff members as fall within the remit of the RMO as outlined by NES Healthcare within this job description.

• To liaise with the consultants, the nursing team and hospital management as required in respect of the management of the hospital patients

Person specification:

• GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice – or be eligible to apply*
• Minimum of 2 years post-graduation experience.
• Must demonstrate a minimum of 8 months experience with Psychiatric in-patients
• Will be required to hold a valid UKRC ALS and EPALS certification (this can be provided at our in-house Training Centre)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• To provide care to the patients within the working environment at the hospital to which the RMO is assigned by NES Healthcare on a 24 hour basis throughout the period of duty.
• To assess patients on admission, according to the hospital admission protocol and to liaise with the Consultants and the nursing team on the clinical, mental and physical health needs of the patient being admitted.
• To assess patient needs on admission and to produce a care plan, in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of the patient.  
• To plan and arrange the necessary blood and other tests.
• To participate in ward rounds and clinical review meetings as requested
