Job Description

We are recruiting Healthcare Assistants / Direct Support Professionals to join a care team in Ireland.

The main purpose of this role is to support residents in their daily lives through a person-centred approach, promoting their independence, dignity, well-being, social inclusion and active participation in the community.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide daily care and support to residents in accordance with their individual care plans;
Support residents with personal hygiene, meals, daily routines and household tasks;
Accompany residents to community activities, appointments and personal goals;
Promote autonomy, choice, dignity and respect at all times;
Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families and support teams;
Maintain up-to-date records and comply with health, safety and care procedures.

Requirements:

Qualification in Healthcare, Social Care, Psychology, Social Work or similar areas;
Healthcare Assistant course or equivalent qualification, preferably Level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework;
Previous experience in a care setting;
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills;
Responsible, adaptable and committed to person-centred care.

Desirable:

Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities;
Experience in rehabilitation settings;
Driving licence;
Additional training in the area of intellectual disabilities.

Salary and Working Hours:

Monday to Saturday: €17.15/hour;
Sunday: €18.65/hour;
40-hour week: approximately €35,672/year;
12-hour day or night shifts available;
Sleepover shifts may be required, depending on the service.
