About the Organization
The psychiatry clinic in Torsby is part of Region Värmland and provides outpatient psychiatric care for adults. The clinic works closely with primary care, addiction services, and other healthcare units within the region.
The service focuses on specialized psychiatric treatment, particularly for individuals with severe mental illness, while also assessing broader psychiatric needs in the community.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and administrative staff. The clinic also operates mobile psychiatric services and emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and professional development.

 
About the Role

• Work hours: Monday–Friday, daytime (no night shifts)
• Type of work: Outpatient psychiatry with opportunities for collaboration in inpatient and consultation settings.

Daily tasks include:

• Conducting psychiatric assessments, diagnostics, and treatment planning
• Providing follow-up care and medication management
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for holistic care
• Participating in meetings, care planning, and coordination with external partners (e.g., social services, primary care)
• Contributing to the development of digital psychiatric services

 Main Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat adults with severe psychiatric conditions
• Collaborate with psychologists, nurses, and social workers in care planning and follow-up
• Manage comorbidities such as addiction, depression, anxiety, or neuropsychiatric disorders
• Participate in the improvement of clinical routines and digital health initiatives
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors and healthcare staff
• Engage in continuing education and stay up-to-date with current psychiatric practice
• Contribute to regional projects and service development
   

Requirements

• Specialist certification in Psychiatry, recognized within the EU
• Experience in outpatient psychiatric care; experience in addiction medicine or insurance medicine is an advantage
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Structured, responsible, and patient-oriented approach
• Commitment to complete MediCarrera’s intensive Swedish language program
• Driving licence required

 
Salary and Conditions (2025)

• Specialist in Psychiatry (permanent): SEK 80,000 – 110,000 / month (≈ €7,000–9,600 gross), adjusted according to experience
• Additional duties (e.g., on-call) compensated separately
