Job Description

On behalf of a well-established public hospital in Eastern Norway, we are seeking a qualified and motivated Vascular Surgeon for a permanent position within the surgical department.

The hospital is located in a well-connected urban area in Eastern Norway, within easy reach of Oslo and surrounded by opportunities for outdoor activities throughout the year. The area offers an attractive combination of city life, nature and family-friendly communities.

About the position

You will work with the assessment, treatment and follow-up of patients with a broad range of arterial and venous vascular conditions.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Assessment and treatment of patients with arterial and venous vascular diseases
• Vascular surgical procedures according to your qualifications and experience
• Outpatient consultations and patient follow-up
• Preoperative assessment and postoperative care
• Collaboration with specialists in radiology, cardiology, anesthesiology and other relevant fields
• Participation in multidisciplinary meetings and quality-improvement initiatives
• Participation in the on-call rota according to your level of competence
• Supervision and training of colleagues and medical students where relevant

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds specialist approval in vascular surgery
• Has a medical degree from an EU/EEA country
• Has relevant clinical experience in vascular surgery
• Works well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Has good communication and collaboration skills
• Is motivated to relocate to Norway and learn Norwegian

Before starting in the position, you will need:

• Norwegian medical authorisation
• Norwegian specialist approval in vascular surgery
• Norwegian language skills at minimum B2 level

You do not need to have these in place when you apply. Dignus Medical will assist you with the authorisation and specialist approval process and provide free Norwegian language training before you start working in Norway.
