In 2022, there were over 71.2 thousand physicians in Romania, 18.910 nurses, and over 21.4 thousand dentists. At the same time, there were 156,651 people working in the Romanian medical system as auxiliary medical staff and nearly 22.7 thousand pharmaceutical chemists.
Medical schools in Romania enroll a high number of students and invest serious amounts of money to prepare them afterward in their residency. Once these residents become specialists, they are left to seek out jobs for themselves.
